1. Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao online is real popular with chinese students, because apparently they report news on China even more than Chinese newspapers themselves. I wonder if its a compliment of Zaobao's reporting depth, or an indication of misplaced priorities.
2. Quarters are important, very important, considering you need 6 to wash your clothes and 6 to dry them. We've run into the habit of collecting quarters.
3. There are different types of plungers for the toilet bowl and the sink. This I learnt when i became "Joel the plumber" when my toilet bowl got clogged last week.
4. Americans take their Halloween very seriously. I heard of people who spent USD$499 on their costumes, and the news reported that even with the recession, the average spending on costumes in USA is USD$66 per pax.
5. Free Speech does not always equate with informed choice. People have always criticised Singapore for its lack of free speech leading to a lack of information in making choices, but the American way seemed to be trading in soundbites over advertisements on TV. There are 2 candidates for this senate seat that keep slinging mud at each other, and after 2 or 3 weeks of TV advertisements i still do not know who stands for what.
6. The girls in Florida and LA are prettier than the ones in Boston. That comes from empirical observation by Kox and I during baseball games on TV.

haha yes it is, and i must apologise for that, but i've been really busy these days; haven't had a chance to even start writing my term papers, much less blog about them. haha
I like #5--free speech does not necessarily lead to informed choice. Thanks for posting on my blog, and good luck at NYU!
